278

Given the current epidemiological situation related to the COVID-19 pandemic, the measures and recommendations of the Civil Protection Headquarters of the Republic of Croatia and the Croatian Institute of Public Health are still in force.  According to the recommendations:

  • It is mandatory to measure the temperature upon entering the Department building
  • Hand disinfection is mandatory upon entering the Department building
  • It is mandatory to wear a face mask on the premises of the Department
  • When entering and leaving the building of the Department and during the stay in the premises of the Department, it is necessary to keep a distance of at least 1.5 m from another person

Students can stay in the premises of the Department only during the exam or classes and in agreement with the mentor, due to the need to prepare a bachelor or diploma thesis.

Corridors, staircases and entrances are the most sensitive places where the spread of the disease can easily occur, so you should avoid staying in these areas.

Students, teachers and other employees of the Department as well as other persons must not enter the premises of the Department if they have fever, respiratory symptoms (cough, difficulty breathing, runny nose) or other symptoms of an infectious disease (e.g. olfactory and hearing disorders), headache, malaise, muscle aches, indigestion), if they are in self-isolation or have been diagnosed with coronavirus infection.

Students who have been prescribed self-isolation and are not able to take the registered exams and attend classes should inform the subject teacher and submit the documentation of the doctor or the competent institution on determining the self-isolation measure.

From September 1, 2020, all offices and services of the Department of Biology are open every day (Monday-Friday) from 08.00 am.

Students are asked to avoid coming to the Department as much as possible and to send all inquiries by e-mail, and only for necessary reasons come in person with prior notice.

Planned start of the new 2020/2021 academic year is October 1, 2020 for first-year undergraduate students, and October 8, 2020 for senior undergraduate and graduate students.

In accordance with the currently valid recommendations, classes will be organized on the premises of the Department of Biology. The schedule of classes and the list of students by groups will be published a few days before the beginning of classes. The method of teaching will change and adapt depending on the epidemiological situation and recommendations, and all new information will be published in a timely manner on the Department’s website (http://www.biologija.unios.hr/blog/2020/09/09/obavijest-vezana-uz-trenutnu-epidemiolosku-situaciju-zbog-pandemije-bolesti-covid-19/) and social networks (Facebook https://hr-hr.facebook.com/OdjelZaBiologiju/, Instagram https://www.instagram.com/odjelzabiologiju/).
