I traveled to Aachen to work for nine months at RWTH Aachen College in Professor Geraldine Zimmer-Bensch’s Neuroepigenetics group. I perfected my own cell culture techniques of neurons and glioblastomas, chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP and CLIP), behavioral experiments in mice, various microscopy techniques, and was given the opportunity to support myself financially by working in a mouse house. Of course, ERASMUS would not be ERASMUS without many new acquaintances, friends and contacts made, roads traveled, drinks drunk, expectations met, and happy endings.
I am incredibly happy and honored that my ERASMUS experience ended with wonderful friendships that I believe will last a very long time, a job in the profession that also entails a PhD, and a new place to call home.
