In the period from June 17 to 21, 2024, Martina Kordić, and Daniel Kujundžić, a first-year graduate students in Biology and Chemistry, participated in short-term mobility as part of the Erasmus+ program called the Blended Intensive Program – “Observing and learning from the past to protect our future: water II”. The mobility took place at the Universidad de León in León, a city in the north-west of Spain. During the mobility, students attended lectures and group projects held in English, as well as excursions in which they visited various localities. They talked about various topics from construction, history and control of water purity. They visited the old abandoned gold mine from the Roman era Las Médulas, the remains of Roman buildings in the small town of Astorga and the hydroelectric plant near León. The mobility ended by presenting group projects to other colleagues and professors that they worked on during the week spent in León. In addition to students from Croatia, students from Hungary, Portugal, Brazil, Greece, Latvia, India, Vietnam, Syria, Morocco, Bangladesh, Liberia and Yemen participated in the project. During this week, the students had the opportunity to use their communication skills and abilities in English, meet new people, make friends and try something new and different, and they returned from the trip with only positive impressions and a desire for new adventures.
