Subsidies

The accommodation for students studying at Josip Juraj Strossmayer University of Osijek is provided in two student dormitories:

The Student Dormitory with the capacity of 193 beds at the address Ivana Gorana Kovačića 4, in Osijek,
The Student Dormitory with the capacity of 1233 beds at the address Kralja Petra Svačića 1C, in the University Campus Osijek.

Conditions and procedures for obtaining a right to accommodation in a student dormitory are determined by the Ministry of Science and Education in the Ordinance available at:https://narodne-novine.nn.hr/clanci/sluzbeni/2017_06_53_1206.html

Prices of accommodation in a dormitory per student/month depend on the room occupancy.

Single room – 1.000.00 HRK
Double room – 750.00 HRK per person
Students complying with Art. 8 of the Rulebook on the conditions and method of exercising the right of full-time students to subsidized housing – 400.00 HRK

Students are entitled to receive subsidies for subsistence costs. Subsidies are granted to students in the period from 1 October of the ongoing year to 15 October of the following calendar year, except for the period from 16 July to 31 August. Student subsidies for subsistence costs are awarded via the student card, also know as the X card. The Ordinance on the conditions and procedure of exercising the right to subsidies for subsistence costs is available at the link.

Levels of subsidies for subsistence costs:

Subsidy level 1 – the amount of 250.00 HRK granted on the X card to domicile students or to students that reside in a area of up to 30 km distance from the University or in the same County
Subsidy level 2 – the amount of 900.00 HRK granted on the X card to non-domicile students that reside in a area of more than 30 km distance from the University and/or in another county
Subsidy level 2.5 – the amount of 1,200.00 HRK granted on the X card to students accommodated in the student dormitory.

Note: As of 1 January 2023, all amounts and prices are converted to EUR as of the official exchange rate 1 EUR = 7.5345 HRK.
